For the second year in a row, BARRINGTON GROUP hosts & mentors student winners of USA TODAY Newspaper - DREAM JOB program!

CHANGE

Dear Friends & Clients,

Starting today (Thursday, June 19th, 2008), we will be starting a column titled 'CHANGE' inspired by Democratic Presidential Candidate, Senator Barack Obama and his, "CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN" message!

MODEL WORLD'S THIN ON IDEAS

THE fashion industry paid big lip service this week to the idea of stopping young models from starving themselves into skinniness - but the designers couldn't come up with any steps that would actually change their sick taste for sickly thin mannequins.

The Council of Fashion Designers of America held an event dubbed "The Beauty of Health: How the Fashion Industry Can Make a Difference" at Milk Studios the other night as part of its awareness program.

Since holding its first health symposium last year, the CFDA has sent letters to designers, agents and stylists reminding them of the importance of health.

New York Congressman Anthony Weiner is hoping to pass a bill that would open up 1,000 new visa slots for foreign models.

Seems Anthony Weiner is working hard to increase his dating pool.

The New York Democratic congressman, who has wooed a bevy of beauties from the Big Apple to the Beltway, is pushing a bill that would open up 1,000 new visa slots - for models.

"Anytime you can create jobs in New York, you've got to do it," said his spokesman, John Collins.

"The fashion industry is super-important in New York. It'll make it easier for costume artists, makeup artists and set designers to do shoots in New York."
